Horse and Iris By Roberta Rettew Iula

Horse and Iris
Pastel

Horse and Iris is a pastel describing the mood of Spring, and the fullness of color. It is not surprising that this property contains a decorative landscape element that brings interest right down to the curb level. A decorative hitching post gives great vertical attention that greets all the upright iris that march along the front of the yard. To me-like a big exclamation mark that ends the thought. My feelings of this spring/early summer look is one of big, beautiful petticoats that radiate out and skirt the front of the house.  Horse and Iris sold at Brath and Hughes Gallery last week. The "Local Scenes" Show is currently there. I have three other landscapes at the gallery that show the interesting architecture of Mechanicsburg. Thank you for reading about my thoughts on Horse and Iris.
